Recreational Therapy -Non-thesis Degree Plan (36 credit hours)
Students pursuing this option are admitted in the Fall semester only.

- Recreation Electives ( Choose 6 credits from REC 5310, 5330, 5350, 5380)
- Therapeutic Recreation Specialty Courses (18 credits)
- REC 5325 Philosophical Foundations of TR
- RED 5326 Advanced Practices and Interventions in TR
- REC 5327 Advanced Assessment and Documentation in TR
- REC 5328 Advanced Principles of TR
- REC 5329 TR in Psychiatric Settings
- REC 5338 Internship in TR
Electives (6 credits chosen in conjunction with your advisor such as REC 5318, 5337 or 5321; ESS 5322, PSY 5310, 5337, 5343, 5363; SPED 5310, 5325, 5327, or 5360)
Note: For students who have not taken Lifespan Development/Human Growth and Development, Anatomy and Physiology, and Abnormal Psychology, you must complete these courses to be eligible to take the NCTRC certification exam.
Recreational Therapy -Thesis Degree Plan (minimum of 30 credit hours)
Students pursuing this option should hold the CTRS or have departmental approval.
