Health and Fitness Management Internship

Agencies signing an agreement with Texas State University to sponsor a Health Education or Health and Fitness Management Intern should meet the following qualifications:

  1. Have at least three (3) full-time salaried employees, at least one of whom has Health and Fitness Management training and experience to mentor the intern.
  2. Have a designated agency internship preceptor with 3 years of managerial experience.
  3. Have adequate facilities, resources and equipment that will support a broad and varied internship experience.
  4. Must have been in a designated place for at least three (3) years or be part of a successful health and fitness organization with multiple facilities.
  5. As a capstone experience for the student, it is the expectation of the University that the internship will be both rigorous and meaningful.
