Dr. Allie Thomas Receives TRAPS Award

Each year, the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) awards the “Educator Outstanding Performance.” For this award, a committee chooses one person who has made exceptional contributions in the areas of research, research dissemination, and teaching in the field of Parks and Recreation.
This year, Dr. Allie Thomas of the Department of Health and Human Performance was recognized as the deserving recipient of this award. Dr. Thomas has been a member of TRAPS for many years and has made countless presentations to practitioners across Texas.
In 2024, Dr. Thomas published five papers in peer-reviewed journals and has two more in press. Her strong research performance, along with her exemplary reputation as a teacher and leader, has been recognized by her peers at the TRAPS through this prestigious award.
